Sunset Veterinary Clinic Statement Regarding COVID-19

Sunset Vet Coronavirus Update

Updated April 22, 2020

Wow!  What a moment in time. With all of the changes and uncertainty occurring, Sunset Veterinary Clinic is still here to serve our community and the pets we all love.

As of March 24, 2020, Sunset Veterinary Clinic will shift to a “curb-side” practice. Essentially, this means that our lobby doors will remain locked during business hours.

We are asking our clients to call us when they arrive for their appointment. Our staff will be happy to come to your vehicle to escort our patients into the building. In instances when our client needs to accompany their pet into the clinic, we ask that only one person (with no signs of respiratory illness) accompany their pet. We will also be delivering food, prescriptions, and any other items to your vehicle.

We are working hard to help keep you safe as well.  We have asked any employee exhibiting signs of illness which could be attributed to COVID-19 stay home. If a manager notices an employee exhibiting symptoms listed as consistent with COVID-19, they will be sent home.

In addition to our normal cleaning protocols, we have increased the frequency of our cleaning schedule with emphasis on prohibiting person to person viral exposure.

We appreciate your understanding and patience during this time. Our mission is still clear,

“Enriching our community and supporting our neighbors by caring for the pets they love.’ If you have any further questions or concerns, please give us a call.

At this time, SVC remains committed to continuing to provide the highest quality veterinary services to your pets while keeping our clients, staff, and families healthy and safe.

Please know that in addition to our normal cleaning and sanitation protocols, we are also taking the following steps:

  1. Upon arrival, our clients will be taken directly into the exam room for check in.
  2. For any client who does not feel comfortable coming into our building, we will be happy to have a staff member come out to your car and retrieve your pet for their examination (based on the pet’s temperament).
  3. Please know that we disinfect every room after every appointment. We also completely disinfect the lobby multiple times throughout the day.
  4. Our staff is being monitored for any signs of illness, including fever throughout each day. If anyone is exhibiting any fever or other symptoms, they will be sent home.

We will continue to monitor the progression of this disease and follow any recommendations from Center for Disease Control.

Please feel free to call us and discuss any concerns you have.

Thank you,
Your Team at SVC
